The University of Florida Pet Emergency Treatment Services (UF PETS) is seeking a self-motivated and compassionate veterinary technician to become part of our team. Our afterhours and weekend emergency hospital offer flexible schedules, giving you 4 days off a week to enjoy all Ocala (known as the horse capital of the world) and the surrounding areas have to offer.
A successful applicant should enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment. A person in this position must possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine, excellent nursing skills, an interest in assisting with teaching staff and students.<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements:
Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician I:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.
Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician II:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT\/LVT\/RVT)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

$20-$32\/hr; Competitive salary based on credentialing and experience<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience
Veterinary Technician II: Credential veterinary technician<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u2022 Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program and\/or certified veterinary technician
\u2022 Knowledge of animal care and nursing, especially critical care.
\u2022 Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and terminology.
\u2022 Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.
\u2022 Ability to effectively maintain a working environment while in stressful situations.
\u2022 Ability to effectively communicate with employees of various levels and responsibilities
\u2022 Excellent Customer Service Skills
\u2022 Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations involving money<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
