Remuneration: $85,717 + 17% superannuation + leave loading
Location: Kensington, New South Wales

Why this role matters:
The Technical Teaching Support Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. This position supports academic staff by handling the setup and preparation for practical classes, ensuring that materials and equipment are effectively transferred between teaching areas as needed.
Additionally, the role involves the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, contributing to a seamless learning environment for students and a reliable support system for instructors. The administrator's proactive approach and attention to technical details are essential to the effective functioning of teaching laboratories.
The role reports to the Technical Teaching Support Team Leader.
Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Preferable to have a work experience in Exercise Physiology/Science area.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory environments including safe use of laboratory equipment and materials, and ability to impart technical knowledge to others in a teaching environment is preferable
- Physical ability to perform manual handling including the ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, push trolleys and transfer equipment, instruments and other materials within laboratories and between laboratories.
- Experience in assembly, repair and maintenance of Human Physiology and Exercise Physiology equipment and instrumentation.
- Willingness to work with laboratory animals safely and ethically, and knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the Australian Code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
