Job Description:
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Respiratory Scientist to join our team across the North West Coast.
Supported by the staff specialist in respiratory medicine, this role is ideal for individuals with experience in a respiratory function unit or a similar setting, including a solid background in respiratory function testing and equipment, such as arterial blood gas testing and venepuncture. Strong spoken and written communication skills, high interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision is also highly desirable.
The successful Senior Respiratory Science will:
- Assist the Clinical Directors in the planning and management of the operation and development of a Lung Function Laboratory, providing an accredited service which is in accordance with Department requirements and national standards.
- Provide safe, high quality and compassionate patient care in delivery of laboratory operations, staff training, performance of routine and complex testing, and participation in educational and research activities.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, until February 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,966 - $123,013 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Public Sector Union Wages Agreement no. 2 of 2022
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
