The Role:
- Responsible for the planning, provision and evaluation of Social Work services as allocated by the Senior Social Worker in consultation with the clinical and discipline leads of the LGH Social Work Services.
- Responsible for providing services that fit with our CARE values and organisational goals.
- Responsible to work at all times in ways that align with practice standards and the Code of Ethics of the AASW.
- Responsible for working collaboratively and effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Responsible for demonstrating skills appropriate to social work best practice in a hospital setting.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, day worker (not working weekends, but working public holidays) position, working as and when required, commencing as soon as we can onboard you, for a period of 24 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $71,441 to $107,878 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
Benefit available to eligible candidates

- Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
- Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
