ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Azure Data Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and manage the Azure data infrastructure to support Center’s database designs, or overall architecture.
  • Collaborate with UFIT services to align with centralized services.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and scalability.
  • Manage and maintain production and non-production databases.

Application Management

  • Develop, test, and maintain full stack applications using JavaScript, Python, Java, React, .Net, Node.js.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features using Agile methodologies.
  • Work with APIs and LTI to ensure seamless integration with external systems and educational tools.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

Systems Storage and Administration

  • Oversee storage solutions, including recovery.
  • Administer system configurations, updates, and monitoring.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
  • May perform capacity analysis, monitor and control use of IT resources.
  • Responsible for the preparation and modification of technical and capacity documentation.

Coordination with UFIT and External Vendors

  • Act as a liaison between the Center, UFIT services, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate and manage centralized services and integrations.
  • Facilitate risk assessment processes for internal and external applications.

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$95,000- $105,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field and four years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may be substituted at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and .NET framework.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • DevOps and Containerization
    • Experience working with containerization software, such as Docker, to manage the coding environment, dependencies, and application prerequisites.
    • Leveraging Python and Docker to test code in development environments and deploy processes to a production environment.
  • Azure Data Infrastructure Management
    • Experience creating and managing ETL processes to move data between Azure MySQL databases.
    • Experience with granting user access and privilege management for databases.
  • Systems Storage and Administration
    • Experience working with processing servers to integrate data pipelines and cronjobs that automate the flow of data.
  • Coordination with UFIT and External Vendors
    • Experience working with UFIT to create database servers for partners and clients to use.
