The Role:
- Provide direct assistance to children and young people to recover from their experiences of family violence trauma through the delivery of evidence based and family violence trauma informed therapeutic counselling and support. This will include using a range of development and age-appropriate techniques and tools within a counselling/therapeutic setting.
- Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and address the needs of adults, children and young people affected by family violence.
- Provision of information, support, referral and advice in a range of ways to professionals, adults, children and young people to support.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and practice experience of family violence trauma and its impact on the developmental needs of children and young people.
- Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic sessions to children and young people face to face focused on family violence trauma stabilisation/recovery who have complex needs.
- Work effectively with family members and other service providers in a complex care context to support children and young people.
- Ability to use professional judgement and initiative to assess complex dynamics of risk and safety assessments within a specialist family violence framework.

The Team:
Work as an effective member of a professional team in the provision of services to adults and children affected by family violence as part of the multidisciplinary Family Violence Service established through the Government’s Safe at Home initiative. You will provide specialist services to adults, children and young people affected by family violence in accordance with best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and support the needs of children and young people affected by family violence.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$71,441 to $107,878 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- Current Working with Children Registration
