Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Undertake a lead role in delivering advanced, complex technical consultancy, project or business as usual (BAU) support from planning to completion relating to enterprise applications, which includes the modification and development of source code to meet Agency objectives from either support related issues or specifications that detail business requirements in conjunction with outsourced contracted development services.
- Manage the following:
- preparation of ‘scripts’ to rectify identified data errors in the data spectrum that includes Oracle database and Lucene index changes.
- creation or modification of system documentation in conjunction with members of the Enterprise Systems Support team and outsourced contracted development services.
- the control of system source code and the ‘build’ process in conjunction with outsourced contracted development services for the in-house system in preparation for release to nominated environments.
- preparation of user Release notes identifying change and impacts and Release instructions documentation when a ‘built’ release is ready to be deployed by 3rd parties including providing assistance in the implementation and distribution of new and modified applications.
- Research and recommend tools and technology to support strategies and methodologies in the development, delivery and change processes associated with in-house corporate applications and databases.
- Undertake high-level data base administration and user support in consultation with the other members of the Enterprise Systems Support team.
- Provide high level authorative advice, direction, and guidance to Output Managers, customers and other stakeholders relating to the provision of regular reports and updates on complex or specialised matters including security, monitoring and auditing of system events, and advise on potential or emerging high risk or business-critical matters that could adversely impact program/project/ policy implementation and/or service delivery. Identify, evaluate and implement risk mitigation strategies in accordance with the dimensions of the role.
- Identify and address complex issues such as planning, implementation and delivery of innovative, cost-effective and sustainable technical solutions that meet customer requirements and improve the customer experience. The role may be required to represent the branch at business forums or meetings.
- Support and foster a culture of high performance, positivity by adopting a visibly collaborative, consultative, and service delivery approach to consultancy/projects/BAU activities.
- Management and technical oversight of the Senior Software Developer.
- Collaborate with colleagues from within and outside the branch to ensure an integrated and unified approach to service delivery and decision making. Establish and build productive partnerships with colleagues, contractors and the stakeholder base to identify, understand and negotiate technical requirements while effectively managing expectations and resourcing to ensure positive results are achieved.

Desirable Requirements
At least 5 years industry experience and relevant tertiary qualifications including experience in the following areas:
- Java
- C#
- Spring/Boot and Hibernate
- Lucene
- SQL
- Oracle
- Apache Tomcat
