Job Description:

The Team:

The Switchboard Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, working across 3 shifts, 7am - 3pm (Day), 3pm - 11pm (Afternoon) and 11pm - 7am (Night). The Switchboard/reception team are the first point of contact for many patients and visitors and the first voice on the telephone. Switchboard maintain a professional, respectful and courteous approach to all. Night shift is in the Emergency Department, working as both Switchboard and the Emergency Triage Clerk. Operators will be required to undertake booking the hospital's visitors' units, complete On Call Rosters and greet new and locum doctors to the hospital, whilst providing the accommodation keys. Operators may also be required to help with reception duties at main reception. They may also be asked to cover internal mail clerk and Parkside reception. Successful applicants are encouraged to consider their availability for short notice call in across all shifts when applying. Applicants will be asked to confirm their availability as part of the application process. This position is located at the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie.

We are seeking applicants who can provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for the hospital, who have a high level of attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing from January 2025 for approximately twelve (12) months

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Allowances:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
