The Role:
- As a member of the ADS North Pharmacotherapy Team, you will provide a comprehensive, evidence-based clinical assessment, treatment and assertive case-management service to clients, who have developed opioid use disorder., and families and carers.
- Provide general nursing clinical support to the broader Alcohol and Drug Service Team.
- Undertake clinical documentation in line with organisational and professional requirements, including preparation of requested treatment reports.
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, including approved research and the development and implementation of alcohol and other drug psychosocial treatment programs.
- Consult with professionals and other agencies on the management of clients who have issues with alcohol and/or other drugs.
You will need:
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including alcohol and other drug assessment, the harm minimisation framework, interventions and prevention activities.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to undertake, comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.
- Experience and knowledge of liaison and consultation with other services and agencies in the context of providing AOD assessment, advice and training.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to provide treatment reports.

The Team:
The Alcohol and Drug Service is a dynamic multidisciplinary team which includes outpatient counselling as well as pharmacotherapy for people seeking treatment for their alcohol and other drug use. In this position, you will be a part of our highly skilled and supportive Pharmacotherapy team, providing assessment and treatment to people who have developed opioid use disorder, as well as providing clinical support to the broader Alcohol and Drug Service team. We strive to be a trauma informed worked service and support ongoing professional development.
Detail of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
- Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
