UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated, part-time IT Documentation Intern to join ICT Construction Management, a unit within UFIT for the next year. The intern will help our network engineers by entering network asset information into several documentation systems. The intern will have the opportunity to shadow the network engineers outside of the office and learn about UF’s vast and complex network. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist our project managers in the planning of new projects. Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other dedicated employees focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community. UFIT’s ICT Construction Management team is housed in the Ayers Building at Innovation Square; about a mile East of campus. This team plans and designs the wired and wireless network infrastructure for new buildings and renovated spaces, the planning and installation of new emergency notification devices and blue light emergency phones, and all of UFIT’s underground utilities. Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are: The intern must be very detail oriented. The data entered is used to plan future projects, assist in troubleshooting, and resource planning. The intern must also be self-motivated and able to work independently on assignments. The intern is not required to have any computer networking background, but must be willing to learn about the UFIT network.
The intern will learn about UF’s vast and complex network. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with UFIT staff of all levels and learn about future full-time positions within UFIT.

Expected Salary: |
$13.00 to $16.00 per hour |

UF Student Assistant This position is open to all students eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. OPS Intern Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. |
