The Role:

Responsible for supporting the Manager, Emergency Management and Special Operation through the provision of specialist advice regarding strategic and policy issues impacting on the effective delivery of special operations in Ambulance Tasmania.

Lead and facilitate projects related to the implementation of special operations capabilities, strategy, and policy across Ambulance Tasmania, working in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Responsible for the ongoing review of the AT special operations framework including, but not limited to, mass casualty, urban search and rescue, wilderness, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) response capabilities.

The Team:

Ambulance Tasmania provides emergency outer-hospital care to the Tasmania community. The Emergency Management and Special Operations unit plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of resources. The team can be tasked with managing of complex situations that require a coordinated response, whether it be during a natural disaster, mass casualty incident, or large-scale public events.

The effectiveness of Emergency Management and Special Operations unit heavily relies on collaboration with key stakeholders from within local government and emergency services through to interstate agencies.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $124,371 to $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
