Job Description: |
ADVANCED IT SUPPORT. Responsible for providing advanced (Tier 3) information technology (IT) support for WCB faculty members, staff members, and students. - Reactive support. Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex hardware and software issues. Many will be problems escalated by Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians. - Proactive support. Provide preventative action recommendations and assist in finding solutions to recurring software and hardware problems. CONSULTATION. Work with end users to develop optimal solutions to address their technology needs. Analyze business needs and technical requirements, develop integrated solutions to meet those needs, prepare requests for quote (RFQ) and/or secure quotes, and help customers fully understand implications of the solution. Implement solutions.[NT1] IMAGE STANDARDS. Participate in developing standards for personal computers (PC) at WCB, such as user, classroom, and lab PCs. Build and maintain images meeting those standards. ADVICE. Serve as a technical consultant to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical staff members. Assist them in resolving highly complex hardware and software issues. USER TRAINING. Provide individualized training to end users. Adapt technical presentations “on the fly” to the appropriate level of complexity for each user. INTERMEDIATE AUDIO VISUAL (AV) SUPPORT. Participate in the 4-person team providing Tier 2 support for the WCB's AV environment (classrooms, conference rooms, recording studios, digital signage, etc.). Install AV hardware, troubleshoot AV systems, replace failed components, etc. INTERNAL CONSULTATION. Identify hardware, software, and integrated solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the support organization. Participate in collaborative evaluation and decision-making process.

Expected Salary: |
$60,000 |
Minimum Requirements: |
Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate of required experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) certifications such as A+, Network+, and Project+ OTHER SKILLS: - Works efficiently and with initiative, independently and as a team member - Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts - Clearly explains complicated IT concepts to non-experts |
