Job Description:

The Clinical Documentation Specialist works as part of the Clinical Coding Management Team and broader Health Information Management Services (HIMS) team and will develop, implement and monitor clinical documentation integrity initiatives to support best practice and patient safety, ensuring quality, completeness, timeliness and accuracy of clinical documentation in the patient health record as well as partner with the clinical coding management team, clinical and other hospital staff to review clinical documentation in health records and provide ongoing education regarding clinical documentation and its relationship to clinical coding and Activity Based Funding (ABF).

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time and part time, day worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Clinical Documentation Certification

  2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  3. Qualification in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, Nursing, Allied Health or Medicine.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
