Salary: UOM 6 – $96,459 - $104,413 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% super

About the Role

The Office Coordinator for Australian BioCommons provides crucial financial and administrative support, ensuring the smooth operations within the research infrastructure project. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role involves managing records, purchasing, and financial services while working closely with the BioCommons team in a collaborative, small-team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Routine monitoring, investigating, and ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded, including any variation thereto.
  • Processing expense and travel reimbursements for staff, reconciliation of expenditure items with corresponding receipts for monthly reconciliation and approval
  • Responding to transactional and payment queries from internal and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the Australian BioCommons asset register and dealing with movement of assets and equipment.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with excellent time management, prioritisation, and attention to detail. They will be highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, able to work independently, and thrive in dynamic environments, with experience in accounts processing and administrative tasks within a tertiary education setting.

You will also have:

  • Completion of tertiary education with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in an office environment and in particular with finance and administration duties.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and / or Google Sheets, working with formulas and extracting information from tabular-based statements
  • Experience in accounts processing procedures including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the team and organisation

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
