About the role
This Senior Automation QA Engineer role delivers comprehensive testing services to the business including but not limited to raising the "culture of quality" across the company. We take pride that the products we deliver to our customers (both internal and external) are of the highest standard.
Automation QA Engineers are embedded into our Delivery Teams, working closely with developers, BA’s and stakeholders to achieve the highest quality results. At Sportsbet, we're dynamic and embrace change. To adapt, you always need to find new ways of speeding up testing without compromising quality. This involves not only automation, but dealing with CI/CD jobs, stabilising test environments, and other forms of testing activities such as manual testing or non-functional testing too.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building test automation frameworks from ground up as well as uplifting and maintaining automation framework test scripts.
- Testing mindset with automation first focus
- Scope testing requirements, understanding complex system interactions, identifying, and documenting potential issues, generating testing strategies and test plans
- Assisting in design processes and providing the QA point of view / critical thinking in solution designs
- Comfortably and effectively communicating and coordinating with team members and other stakeholders across Sportsbet
- Developing quality assurance standards and processes for the team, taking fellow developers along with the journey and providing valuable QA feedback in day to day activities.
- Leading QA best practices by bringing new ideas, techniques, and tools via QA guilds, and being able to mentor fellow developers and other QA’s. Contributing to enhancement of knowledge and skillset of team in terms of QA best practices
- Participating and contributing to load and performance tests
Technical skillset required:
- Programming knowledge in Java (Mandatory), JavaScript / Typescript or Kotlin as nice to have’s
- Well versed with build automation tools such as Gradle
- Developing and deploying API test automation suites using RestAssured (preferred), other options being SuperTest, Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cucumber and/or other API test automation frameworks
- Developing and deploying backend and frontend automation test suites using automation tools like Selenium, WebDriver / Appium / Detox, Playwright, Cypress
- Experience with setting up and working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Knowledge working with a GitHub, Bitbucket
- Docker, Puppet or other application configuration and distribution platform knowledge
- Well versed in AWS concepts
