About the Role

The After-Hours Service is designed to deliver services to build safety where risk is present, provide help and support to resolve issues and/or prevent escalation, and be responsive to the needs of our children and young people in care, outside of standard business hours.

Conditions of Employment

If successful, you must be available to complete approximately 3 months of full-time (Mon-Fri 8:30am -5pm) paid training.

Please note: Other permanent and fixed-term full-time and part time vacancies that may arise in the future may also be filled from this process.

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a. crimes of violence

b. sex related offences

c. serious drug offences

d. crimes involving dishonesty

e. serious traffic offences

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
