About the Role <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The After-Hours Service is designed to deliver services to build safety where risk is present, provide help and support to resolve issues and\/or prevent escalation, and be responsive to the needs of our children and young people in care, outside of standard business hours. <\/span><\/p>\n

Duties Include <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

• Providing information, advice and support to all incoming, emergent, and critical after-hours service enquiries in a child-centred, trauma-informed manner. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Conditions of Employment <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Salary: $74,441 to $107,878 pro rata per annum + 11.5% Superannuation<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Classification: Allied Health Professional Level 1-2<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Award\/Agreement: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Location: South (Hobart), North (Launceston) and North-West (Ulverstone)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Hours of Work: This is a shift-based role and includes a combination of day, afternoon and night work, including availability for call-out as rostered.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    If successful, you must be available to complete approximately 3 months of full-time (Mon-Fri 8:30am -5pm) paid training.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Essential Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        • A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board, for example a Bachelor of Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association; or<\/span><\/li>\n
        • An alternative tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology, Bachelor of Youth Work, Bachelor of Psychological Science; or<\/span><\/li>\n
        • An associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (AQF Level 5 or 6 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example a Diploma in Community Services.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Current Driver's Licence.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and thew status of this may be checked at any time during employment.<\/span><\/p>\n

          The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:<\/span><\/p>\n

          a. crimes of violence<\/span><\/p>\n

          b. sex related offences<\/span><\/p>\n

          c. serious drug offences<\/span><\/p>\n

          d. crimes involving dishonesty<\/span><\/p>\n

          e. serious traffic offences<\/span><\/p>\n

          3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.<\/span><\/p>\n
