Biological Scientist I/II

Job Description:

Work in the area of Plant Pathology on important diseases of vegetable and other crops.

Design and execute complex biological experiments, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.

Develop and implement new research methodologies to advance our understanding of various biological processes.

Interpret and communicate research findings through published articles, presentations, and reports.

Contribute to grant proposals and secure funding for future research initiatives.

Mentor and guide junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Maintain and manage the laboratory.

Salary:

Biological Scientist I - starting $19.16 per hour, depending on background and experience.

Biological Scientist II - starting $46,000 annually, depending on background and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Biological Scientist I - Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.

Biological Scientist II - Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

An M.S. degree in plant pathology, microbiology, or a closely related area in plant or life science.

- Proven experience in conducting biological research and experiments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
