Career Medical Officer - Psychiatry (529107)

The role:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.<\/p>\n

\n
• Carry out assessments, treatments and provide clinical care to individuals referred to the team in collaboration with other team members. This will include the application of a wide range of skills and interventions.<\/li>\n
• Act as a medical and psychiatric resource for other team members.<\/li>\n
• Seek appropriate clinical support and supervision from senior colleagues, the Director or Delegate.<\/li>\n
• Promote and maintain close links with colleagues and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care. Liaise with other community service providers, especially GP\u2019s.<\/li>\n
• Participate in medical student teaching and in-service training of staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The position works within a variety of Custodial\/Forensic environments and the occupant will have regular daily contact with persons within a custodial setting or forensic patients admitted to the Secure Forensic Mental Health Unit \u2013 the Wilfred Lopes centre.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    The occupant will be required to adhere to all security practices and procedures within correctional centres and the Wilfred Lopes Centre.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • Some intrastate and interstate travel may be required<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Details of Appointment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Permanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Base Salary: $125,000 - $200,000 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.<\/span><\/p>\n

        You\u2019ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
