Senior Speech Pathologist, Acute (fixed-term, part-time)

Are you an experienced or aspiring Senior Speech Pathologist looking for an exciting opportunity? We’re seeking a skilled clinician to join our Acute Speech Pathology team at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), the state’s tertiary referral centre and major University teaching hospital.

Evidence of your competence in Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS), Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) or tracheostomy management will be highly regarded. Your ongoing learning will be supported through a generous Professional Development (PD) budget, paid travel expenses to attend interstate PD events, active clinical supervision and peer support programs.

The RHH sits a block away from the iconic Hobart waterfront, and is centrally located for easy access to good food, craft drinks and events such as Dark MOFO.

In this role, you'll become a part of our leadership team, contributing to service development and holding a Speech Pathology leadership portfolio. You'll mentor and support your peers, junior staff, and students from the University of Tasmania's Masters of Speech Pathology program.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $106,966 - $123,013 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia
  2. Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia
    Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
  3. Full member of Speech Pathology Australia

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
