Job Description:<\/th>	Maintain, coordinate, and participate in NFREC-Quincy center-wide pesticide recordkeeping, perform computer oriented duties for farm office and center records.<\/li> Implement research projects with each program as necessary, implement and coordinate sampling of farm research blocks for Ph readings and aid in performing laboratory procedures using a variety of laboratory equipment.<\/li> Apply pesticides and fertilizers to research plots and center grounds. Calibrate sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, and hand held boom sprayers. Serve as lead for farm crew in absence of Farm Manager.<\/li> Perform field and greenhouse work: planting, maintaining, and harvesting research crops.<\/li> Operate a variety of farm equipment for land preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting of research plots and center grounds. <\/li> Other duties as required by immediate supervisor or Center Director.<\/li> This position requires the ability to work in hot, humid environments in the summer and cold environments in the winter months. <\/li> This position has a regular schedule of 8:00 - 5:00 Eastern Time. Hours may vary rarely based on center events. <\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/td><\/tr>
Expected Salary:<\/th>	$15 per hour<\/p><\/td><\/tr>
Minimum Requirements:<\/th>	High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational\/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.<\/li> Must acquire Agricultural Row Crop Pesticide License with Demonstration and Research endorsement within 90 days of employment.<\/li> Valid Florida Driver License<\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
Preferred Qualifications:<\/th>	Proficiency in operation of computers (familiarity with Windows OS Microsoft Office) and computer related tasks. <\/li> Must have the ability to work well with others in a team situation. <\/li> Ability to prioritize and organize tasks as assigned. <\/li> The ability to work independently is a must. <\/li> Ability to perform basic agricultural skills. <\/li> Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance and repairs on farm machinery.<\/li> Ability to record data accurately.<\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
