Classified Plant Engineer

Work Location: Chichester Hub - Christmas Creek

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

We are currently seeking a Classified Plant Engineer to work within our Chichester Hub Operations at our Christmas Creek Processing Plant on an 8/6 roster.

The Classified Plant Engineer reports to the Senior Compliance Engineer and is responsible for supporting the Chichester Hub Classified Plant Management (CPM) System acting as the Classified Plant Officer to ensure that classified plant in the processing facility are compliant to regulatory requirements and are safe for operation. This will also include supporting the systems surrounding the Machine Risk Management Plan (MRMP) and the In-Service Water Storage Tanks as a custodian of these assets. These areas are fundamental as they represent a large portion of statutory requirements for the processing facilities and thus will require full compliance to both FMG, Australian and API Standards.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, maintain and review Classified Plant, MRMP and Tank inspection strategies, inclusive of PM02 work orders for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain the site Classified Plant Asset Register, extending to the Machine Book (MRMP) and a Tank Inspection Register.
  • Scope classified plant, MRMP and tank remediation and improvement jobs with sufficient detail.
  • Support the Compliance Equipment Programs for the processing facility.
  • Review defect risk ratings and impact severity based on inspections completed by third party vendor.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance & Operation teams for classified plant, MRMP and tanks for the processing facility.
  • Provide classified plant technical support to the Engineering Execution & Projects Team.
  • Maintain the standardised reporting system developed to communicate the Classified Plant, MRMP and Tanks Condition for the processing facility.
  • Generate a Classified Plant, MRMP and Tank Condition Report for the Senior Compliance Engineer.
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory/obligatory audits and inspections of classified plant, balance machines and tanks as per FMG and industry standards.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 5 years heavy industry experience preferably in Fixed Plant Ore Processing.
  • University Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Structural)
  • Experience working with classified plant, tanks and balance machines with the ability to provide guidance on defects and subsequent remediation scope(s).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Change & Maintenance Management
  • Experience working with data visualisation software e.g. Tableau
  • Complex problem solving
  • Excellent understanding of classified plant, balance machines and tanks
  • Field proficiency
