The Opportunity

The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW has an opportunity for a motivated Technical Officer. You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and effective day-today- operation of equipment and services in the workshop. To be successful in this role you will have experience working with operating machine tools, lathes, milling machines and workshop equipment to fine tolerances, and be able to carry out minor welding tasks.

You will oversee the safe operation and maintenance of workshop materials and equipment, working with staff and students in the design and construction of devices, models or rigs and oversees the maintenance of associated equipment. This role will require you to maintain high standards of work practice and support a culture of continuous improvement in the School’s workshops and laboratories.

This position reports to the Project Workshop Technical Manager and has no direct reports
