Job Description: | The Department of Pediatrics, Cellular and Molecular Therapy is seeking intermediate level scientists with experience in gene therapy research, specifically adeno-associated viruses (AAV), for a Biological Scientist II position in the laboratory of Dr. Shannon Boye. The research lab is developing viral vector-based gene therapies for the treatment of inherited ocular disease. The incumbent will perform laboratory experiments using gene therapy applications and procedures established in this lab. The individual in this position is expected to function under minimal supervision and troubleshoot simple to moderate complex scientific issues independently (minimally alter or modify procedures if necessary). The position requires work with rodent animal models, histological work, and molecular/cellular work. Responsibilities to include:

Expected Salary: | $34,000 - $44,000 annually; commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: | Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field. |
