Job Description:

The role

In accordance with established policies, guidelines and procedures, the Administrative Assistant provides a high level of reception, administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the Cancer Services Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

The team:

Cancer and Blood Services (CaBS) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), is a comprehensive service dedicated to cancer and blood disorder patients including the state-wide bone marrow transplant service. The units together provide treatment, research, clinical trials and education regarding these diseases and survivorship care.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, casual, day worker positions available as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant


$64,125 to $68,925 pro-rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Plus 25% Casual loading - Equivalent of $40.56 to $43.60 per hour.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
