Job Description:

The role:

Are you interested in providing care and support to people in their home with personal care or domestic assistance? If so, this casual position may be for you. We are looking for enthusiastic people with a caring attitude to work within the community setting. Ideally you will have a Certificate 3 in Individual Support/Aged Care or similar. You would be part of a supportive team and we can offer family friendly hours, including school times, by negotiation.

You will be part of the Mersey-Leven Community Health Nursing & Home Care Service team, which provides nursing care in the community and clinics in Devonport and Ulverstone, as well as Home Care services. The team consists of Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Coordinator, RNs, ENs and ancillary staff including attendants, administration and home help/personal carers.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, casual, day worker positions working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible until February 2025

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $58,184 to $59,580 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Certificate 3 in Individual Support/Aged Care or other relevant qualifications if employed to provide personal care
  2. Current First Aid Certificate

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  5. serious traffic offences
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
