Job Description:	UF Health Pathology Laboratories’ (UFHPL) Core Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and performing specialized testing in the areas of point-of-care, chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, hematology, and coagulation in a CAP accredited laboratory system. This position is responsible for the performance, quality, and accuracy of the results reported; maintenance of instrumentation, including scheduled, preventive, and troubleshooting, as needed; preparation of standards, calibrators, and reagents; and adherence to the laboratory's quality management program, including quality assurance activities and coordination for multiple sites. This position will assume administrative duties in supervising operations and personnel at multiple sites, including the UFHPL Student Health Care Center Core Laboratory, Point-of-Care testing sites, and portions of UFHPL Core Laboratory. Duties to Include: Supervise and perform laboratory testing of human biological samples for diagnostic purposes using various methodologies. Testing includes, but is not limited to, operation of state-of-the-art automated point-of-care, chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation systems and performing various clinical laboratory assays using automated and/or manual methods. Responsible for all routine quality assurance activities associated with the performance of laboratory and point-of-care testing; includes reporting results and all quality control documentation. Actively oversee the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratory information system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds and dictionary maintenance. Ensure the overall maintenance of the laboratory. Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and equipment, and comply with all laboratory policies and procedures. Participate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by the laboratory director. Keeps laboratory procedure manuals up to date. Responsible for keeping the UFHPL Core Lab in a continual state of high quality readiness per CAP, AHCA and CLIA requirements. Conduct performance appraisals and competency assessments for staff.
Expected Salary:	Salary is between $72,000 - $80,000 annually
Minimum Requirements:	Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in one of the specialty areas to which the position is allocated and four years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:	Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Serology under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes. Prior Clinical Laboratory experience in the areas of Point-of-Care, Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute laboratory testing. Ability to use problem solving techniques in the laboratory. Ability to communicate with other technologists and supervisors. Ability to collect and analyze data. Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures for clinical testing.
