Full-time Permanent Position – $103,608 - $119,430p.a. + 11% superannuation

Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You’ve paired a diverse clinical skillset with leadership nous. And you could put this into place anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, you will influence decision making within a vital service, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don’t sit in traffic for an hour. You’re decompressing with a wander through our beautiful city, on putting on your boots and telling it to a mountain, within minutes.

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Physiotherapists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are a team of some 80 staff, a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic. Here, you can work and learn alongside highly accomplished Physios, while making a difference to the lives of a diverse and inclusive community.

This important role will see you working within the Paediatric Physiotherapy team, providing inpatient and outpatient care. The team provides Physiotherapy services to a 34 bed paediatric and adolescent inpatient unit. This recently renovated unit includes a new adolescent space and separate gym therapy area. The position also entails involvement in a range of outpatient clinics: clubfeet, eating disorders, out of home care and cystic fibrosis. Outpatient clinics take place in a new purpose-built paediatric outpatient space, with physiotherapy gym and plaster room. You will work alongside an experienced paediatric physiotherapist who covers the neonatal ward, developmental clinic as well as sharing cystic fibrosis clinic, club foot clinic and other outpatients. The position also provides education and support for rotating Level 1/ 2 Physiotherapists and students. The position provides the opportunity to work and collaborate with a range of non-clinical and clinical multi-disciplinary professionals.

We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist with demonstrated experience in the management of children across a wide range of clinical areas including rehabilitation, oncology, orthopaedics, cardiorespiratory, developmental, mental health and eating disorders. We are looking for a Physiotherapist with skills to work independently to manage a varied and dynamic caseload and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

And we’ll be committed to seeing you thrive. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our team and culture. As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals. Physio Emily Farquhar moved here from interstate to take on a Senior role in 2022. They would be most happy to hear from you to answer questions about their journey to Tasmania, and how they find working in our health service and physio team:
