Job Description:

The Royal Hobart Hospital invites suitable applicants to apply for training opportunity within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine - an accredited training site.

Rehabilitation Medicine is a recognised speciality of medicine with its own 4-year training program and is a Faculty of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. The Royal Hobart Hospital is an accredited training site and offers three accredited training positions.

A doctor is eligible to apply to be admitted as a trainee at the end of PGY2.

Rehabilitation Medicine is the diagnosis, assessment, and management of an individual with a disability due to illness or injury. Rehabilitation physicians work with people with a disability to help them achieve an optimal level of performance and improve their quality of life.

Areas of growth in the future are in ambulatory rehabilitation, academic rehabilitation and musculoskeletal procedural rehabilitation.

Salary

$97,946 - $138,593 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time day work 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 5 February 2024 until 3 February 2025.

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of private & public inpatients/outpatients and provides afterhours emergency cover at the hospital as required.
