Recombinant Protein Expression and Purification:\u202f <\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
• Carry out recombinant protein expression and purification protocols that align with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Techniques include cell culture and transfection, bacterial culture and transformation, bioreactor operation, media preparation, Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography. <\/li>\n
• Modify existing and develop new GMP-like protocols. <\/li>\n
• Participate in biological research programs for academic collaborators, government, research firms, medical industries, or manufacturing firms. <\/li>\n
• Perform scientific experiments for analysis and standardization. <\/li>\n
• Analyze datasets for research purposes; evaluate data by performing appropriate mathematical or statistical calculations and analyses. <\/li>\n
• Provides input for technical reports, research papers, scholarly articles, abstracts, or recommendations. <\/li>\n
• Consult with researchers and other professionals to conduct appropriate analyses, analyze problems, determine strategies, or recommend solutions. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Lab Stocking, Maintenance and Record Keeping:\u202f <\/strong> <\/p>\n

  \n
  • Ordering and stocking lab supplies <\/li>\n
  • Maintain log of reagent stocks and chemical inventory <\/li>\n
  • Provide routine maintenance on laboratory equipment; verify that equipment and instrumentation are maintained in working condition and certified to ensure accuracy and quality of experimental results. <\/li>\n
  • Assist in evaluating new supplies, technologies, and equipment to ensure operability in specific laboratory settings for enhancing or complementing research. <\/li>\n
  • Maintain Good Lab Practices (GLP) by keeping records of research methods, protocols, and results; prepare and maintain research findings, summaries, logs, and notes. <\/li>\n
  • Assist in testing new and updated tools and software. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Lab Coordination:<\/strong> <\/p>\n

    \n
    • Assist in developing GLP\/GMP like protocols for protein manufacture and qualification. <\/li>\n
    • Assist in managing laboratory teams and\/or monitor the quality of a team\u2019s work; assist in supervising or directing the work of other scientists, technicians, and other workers and evaluating the accuracy of their results; assist in teaching or advising undergraduate or graduate students or supervising their research <\/li>\n
    • Assist with instructing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in methods or procedures <\/li>\n
    • Assist with maintain laboratory safety programs and training personnel in laboratory safety techniques <\/li>\n
    • Modify laboratory equipment needed for special research projects <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

$18.50 - $20.00 per hour; commensurate with qualifications and experience<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related life science field.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

• Master's degree in biomedical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field. <\/li>\n
• Experience working in GMP\/GLP Facilities <\/li>\n
• Expression and Purification of recombinant proteins. (Desired skills include experience with bacterial culturing, operation of a bioreactor, cell culture, FPLC and\/or table-top chromatography, aseptic technique). <\/li>\n
• Lab organization, including organizing\/sanitizing materials and equipment and ordering. <\/li>\n
• Teamwork skills include working in highly collaborative environments as well as mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
