Job Description:

The Role:

The Registered Nurse - Community strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care by;

The Hospital:

Smithton District Hospital (SDH) and Community Health Centre is small sized sub-acute public hospital located in Smithton Tasmania. It services the whole Circular Head region with a catchment population of 8000 people.

The Hospital has 12 subacute beds accommodating general medicine, post-acute, palliative and end of life care. We have a 3-bay emergency first response unit staffed by nurses and General Practitioners who are contracted to provide on call medical services.

Smithton Community Nursing provide a 7 day a week service to clients in their own home plus a clinic service.

Details of Appointment

Permanent part time shift-worker position working 48 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $69,835 - $96,428 per annum pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  2. Current Driver’s Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

*As required by CHSP or the Aged Care Act, occupants of this role are required to undertake a conviction check assessment every three years.
