About the Role
As the Media and Communications Manager, you will develop and maintain the public profile of MACSYS and inform the Australian public and the national and international press through press releases, media events, social media, and podcasts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Promote MACSYS research in the media (general and industry) through established channels such as public broadcasters and print media, and science media including publications such as The Conversation.
- Produce online video content for YouTube and other social media platforms.
- Support and contribute to the Centre’s Community and Outreach program, and Research Translation Portfolios.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a tech-savvy Media and Communications Manager who has a high level of self-motivation and initiative when completing and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines. You will pay great attention to detail and can work both independently and as part of a diverse multi-institutional team.
You will also have:
- Completion of a degree qualification in a media-related discipline and subsequent relevant work experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience using Adobe software (including Photoshop and InDesign) and Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated experience in building an audience on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
