The role:

As the Tasmanian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (TPRS) psychologist, you will provide inpatient and outpatient care to children 0-18 years of age with a functional impairment due to complex health conditions. The children you see will have conditions including:

We welcome applicants with a background in clinical and/or neuropsychology. The psychologist will contribute to outpatient services such as brain injury clinic alongside the medical, nursing and allied health team. The role includes provision of assessment and intervention with children presenting with congenital and acquired neurodevelopmental disabilities or injuries and those with other psychological, emotional or behavioural needs as part of their rehabilitation program.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a psychologist with experience in paediatrics and/or rehabilitation who would like to be part of an exciting new service.

The team:

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to join the statewide Tasmanian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (TPRS). TPRS provides specialised, coordinated paediatric rehabilitation to children, young people, and their families across the state.

This team will work under a newly established Model of Care developed through co-design with patients, families and clinicians over recent years. Successful candidates will embrace our shared vision, mission, and values, which together support the delivery of child and family centred care.

We are seeking collaborative, passionate, and skilled people to join our interdisciplinary team. Our team provides inpatient and outpatient care at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

All team members will play an integral role in developing our service as we progress through a staged implementation of our Model of Care. TPRS values ongoing professional development (PD) and a generous PD allowance will be provided. Professional support will be jointly provided by the RHH Psychology Department and TPRS leadership team.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $103,608 to $119,430 pro rata per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

$1,000 p.a. entitlement for professional development course fees (daily wage, flights, accommodation, daily allowance paid in addition to this)

Please note that access to salaries beyond $111,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Relocation Expenses:

Relocation expenses will be paid as stated below:

* Please note that relocation and accommodation expenses will be provided on a reimbursement basis of costs incurred after the lodgement of tax receipts.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
  2. Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
  3. Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist
  2. Post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
