The role:

Within the discipline of Radiology:

Provide advice on radiological findings and investigations to fellow medical staff and consultants

Population Screening and Cancer Prevention (PSCP) is the Tasmanian Government’s cancer screening authority – providing the best source of information on cancer screening and prevention in Tasmania.

As part of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS), PSCP is responsible for:

Details of Appointment

Fixed Term full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible for 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $163,005 - $247,768 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation

Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $234,726 -$247,768 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

*A new wages agreement has been agreed and is currently being registered in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission. The new rates apply to this position and are effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2023

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Competency in breast imaging including biopsy and localisation procedures

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. Crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  5. serious traffic offences (delete if not required)
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
