Assistant Director, Data Management

Job Description:
The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Integrated Data Repository (IDR) research services team is actively recruiting for an Assistant Director of Data Management. Responsibilities of this position include managing day-to-day operations of the IDR, which focuses on delivering real-world healthcare data to research teams conducting novel and high-impact research. The position works in close collaboration with the UF Health Chief Research Information Officer (CRIO) and IDR Director
Assures goals and objectives are achieved by hiring qualified staff, developing existing staff, managing performance, and building a culture of continuous learning and problem solving.
Provides project management support to research team customers, in close collaboration with research team faculty and staff members. Documents and manages programs and projects.
Continuously evaluates and improves policies and processes for managing research data services, including through development and monitoring of mission-aligned performance metrics and value assessments, and through effective documentation and dissemination.
Assesses stakeholder needs through systematic inquiry, analysis, and reflection. Builds and maintains strategic collaborative relationships with research teams, centers, and internal staff and external stakeholders. Maintains ongoing effective communication with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Develops and delivers in-person and electronic tutorials, presentations, web content, and trainings to research faculty and staff across the university to describe research informatics services and research value added.
Assures departmental purpose is consistently met in high quality manner. Develops, implements and evaluates long-range plans for the department. Directs and manages the financial performance of the assigned cost center(s).
Partners effectively with decision support and information technology staff to ensure common understanding of healthcare data and technology infrastructure, and its effective use in support of research and healthcare delivery operations.
Expected Salary:

$100,000 - $120,000/year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least five years of experience designing, deploying, or collaborating with teams that manage data and IT services using industry best practices in data and information architecture, data modeling, and ETL.
At least three years of experience managing, as a member of, or collaborating closely with research teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customer and other stakeholders at every level.
Experience managing data-intensive services, and collaborating across research, technical, and business units within a complex organization.
