Job Description:
The Role:
The Registered Nurse - Instrument/Circulating Theatre Nurse is an integral part of a multidisciplinary perioperative team. The primary focus of the theatre nurse is to provide safe quality evidence-based care for patients during the intraoperative phase of the surgical journey.

The Hospital:
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability and provides acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services for the Tasmania Health Service Hospitals South (THS Hospitals South) and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from THS Hospitals North and THS Hospitals North West. The RHH provides elective and emergency surgical services for the THS Hospitals South.
The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all surgical procedures with the exception of transplant surgery, complex paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiac surgery, major paediatric orthopaedic surgery and cochlear implant surgery.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full and part time, shift-worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $69,835 - $96,428 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Access to the Grade 4 salary range $90,293 - $96,428 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
- Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Previous experience in surgical instrument/circulating nursing roles
- Relevant Post Graduate Qualification
