About the Role
The Academic Programs Officer is a member of the Academic Programs Team in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences. The team works collaboratively to deliver a range of support functions to academic staff across the school. In consultation with the Academic Programs Coordinator, the position facilitates administration of all coursework and graduate research programs, ensuring equity of experience for all students in liaison with the relevant clinical and departmental contacts and assists in the development and maintenance of key relationships with other organisational stakeholders.
The Academic Programs Officer is responsible for the management and administration of academic programs in the School and for the day to day coordination of the activities associated with these programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide high level support for academic staff members in relation to teaching matters.
- Responsible for preparing examination board information, and for organising supplementary assessment on the recommendation of Boards of Examiners.
- Responsibility for examination, special consideration and result processing procedures in line with university policy including the need for confidential management of student records.
- Provide administrative support on research experience program (REP) and graduate research matters including admissions, enrolments.
- Respond in a timely and professional manner to a range of face to face, phone and email enquiries from current and prospective students and also staff, including monitoring and responding to generic email inboxes.
Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, which enable you to manage competing demands in a dynamic environment, with a high degree of accuracy.
You will also have:
- Undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to effectively liaise and negotiate with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and systems.
- Demonstrated experience with client management systems /databases.
