You can be a Speech Pathologist anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our rich learning culture, our relaxed lifestyle, and the wealth of opportunities available to both developing and experienced Speech Pathologists. You will be encouraged to learn, to extend yourself, and to develop meaning in your work, within a team that celebrates your success.
An opportunity exists for either a Level 1 or 2 Speech Pathologist to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will join our vibrant and supportive team of approximately 20 Speech Pathologists who work across several diverse and specialist fields; and will rotate through positions working out of both the Repatriation Hospital and Royal Hobart Hospital. The Royal Hobart Hospital is the state’s tertiary referral centre and major University teaching hospital, and as such offers unique opportunities for both experienced and newly graduated Speech Pathologists.
We support learning and development through a generous PD budget, paid travel expenses to attend interstate PD events, active clinical supervision and peer support programs. Depending on the interests and experience of the successful applicants, there will be opportunities to participate in skill and competency development in several specialist areas including: Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS), Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallow (FEES), Tracheostomy, Burns, Head & Neck Cancer, Laryngectomy and Laryngology & Voice.
We aim to work at the top of our scope of practice, and we are driven to provide the best possible care to our community. We value career opportunities and make the most of our organisation’s commitment to developing leaders within Allied Health as well as excellent opportunities for advancement within our discipline. Finally, we care about staff wellbeing and pride ourselves on balancing work with time to enjoy friends, connection, food, fun, and Tasmania’s beautiful environment. The Royal Hobart Hospital is situated in inner city Hobart close to cafes, parks, wine bars and our iconic waterfront. Weekend adventures are just a drive away.
