The Clinical Nurse Consultant in Facilities and Redevelopment in Infection Prevention and Control works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager in the evaluation, planning and development of contemporary infection control practice across acute hospital and community services.
The CNC will also work closely with Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Facilities, Management and Engineering staff, project managers and external construction companies to ensure that all building renovation and maintenance activities are undertaken in line with health facility guidelines.
Provide(s) direction in contemporary nursing practice to ensure the prevention, control, and management of building activity related infectious diseases, across acute hospital and community services.
The role:
Work(s) in partnership with the Nurse Manager - Infection Control (NM) in the evaluation, planning and development of contemporary infection control practice across acute hospital and community services.
Work(s) in partnership with Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Facilities, Management and Engineering staff, project managers and external construction companies to ensure that all building renovation and maintenance activities are undertaken in line with health facility guidelines.
Provide(s) direction in contemporary nursing practice to ensure the prevention, control, and management of building activity related infectious diseases, across acute hospital and community services.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing from December 2023.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $104,735 - 111,334 per annum + 11% superannuation
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Holds or working towards postgraduate studies appropriate to infection prevention and control and inclusive of hospital epidemiology.
