Job Description:
The Department of Health are seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team in Rehabilitation at the Mersey Community Hospital.
The role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Rehabilitation will work within an Acute/Primary Health Care Framework, Agency policies, legal requirements and professional competencies and will:
- Provide professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessments and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people requiring rehabilitation services from the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Team.
- Undertake a broad consultative role by initiating and maintaining a comprehensive network with community and support groups and professional associates and developing professional collaborative linkages with other health professionals across the acute and community sectors, working as part of the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Team and in close collaboration with patients, allied health staff and specialists.
- Implement evidence-based practices through teaching, research, policy and protocol development and through direct example within the practice setting.

Details of Appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing from December.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $104,735 - $111,334 pro rata, per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current Driver's License.
- Holds or is working toward relevant tertiary qualifications in rehabilitation nursing.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- serious traffic offences
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
