The Role:

King Island Hospital and Community Health Centre are looking for experienced Enrolled Nurses.

The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve patient-centred outcomes.

With a population of approximately 1600 people King Island is based in the Bass Strait between Victoria and northwest coast of Tasmania, and is well-known for world class cheese, fresh seafood, very clean air, and incredible surfing and golf. The Hospital is located in Currie which is King Island's largest town and administrative centre.

King Island Hospital & Health Centre has four acute care beds, a palliative room with adjoining family room, two emergency rooms, Treatment room, outpatients consulting rooms, 14 permanent residential aged care beds providing high, low and respite care.

Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent full time and part time shift-worker positions are available working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible

*hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $66,811 - $69,835 per annum pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

*as required by the Commonwealth Home Support Program and/or the Aged Care Act, occupants of this role are required to undertake a conviction check assessment every three years.
