Job Description:

The role:

Join the expansion of an innovative service as an Allied Health Assistant, delivering acute and sub-acute services, in people's homes.

The service:

Hospital@home is for public and private patients of Southern Tasmania. Providing hospital avoidance interventions and both acute and sub-acute care for adults in the community setting.

The service enables existing services such as Community Rapid Response (ComRRS), Allied Health Rapid Response Team (AHRRT) and Hospital in the Home (HITH) alongside a new Geriatric Evaluation Management model to be integrated under the umbrella of a centralised hub promoting cohesive and seamless interdisciplinary care delivery for patients in their own homes.

The 7 day a week service operates across multiple sites throughout Southern Tasmania.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time or part time shift-worker positions commencing as soon as possible. Full or part time hours to be negotiated with the successful applicants to provide a 7-day a week service.

Salary: $63,336 - $66,917 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification
  2. Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution
  3. Current Driver’s Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
