About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Melbourne Medical School as a Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow. The Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow program at the Royal Children's Hospital is offered as a development opportunity within the RCH Foundation-funded Framework for Educational Excellence. The positions appointed within the University's Department of Paediatrics provide an excellent training opportunity for interested paediatric trainees, allowing them to develop and further enhance their skills as medical educators within the academic structure provided by the University.
In 2024 the CAH program will run from January to November. This position is based at the Royal Childrens Hospital in Parkville. The course is also taught at Sunshine, Northern, Austin, Ballarat hospitals and the Rural Clinical School.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality clinical teaching and learning opportunities in the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) program within the University's medical course.
- Actively participate in the curriculum development and design of the CAH program.
- Mentor medical students within their general teaching activities.
Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Additionally you enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic team to achieve excellent educational outcomes for students.
You will also have:
- Medical registration in Australia (or eligible for medical registration in Australia).
- Advanced trainee of postgraduate training (FRACP or equivalent) in an appropriate specialty.
- Experience in a clinical paediatrics practice environment.
- Commitment to further enhancement of professional and teaching skills.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.

The Department of Paediatrics is a large department within the School of Medicine. The Department has responsibility for the Child & Adolescent Health component of the Doctor of Medicine course of the School.
