Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join the team in the Short Stay Suite at the Royal Hobart Hospital in a Permanent Full-Time position.
The Role:
To be successful in the role, the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will
- provide leadership to the ward, ensuring the provision of efficient and effective care.
- lead and manage the coordination of patient care and be responsible for managing the human, material and financial resources.
- possess leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to demonstrate a business focus delivering best care outcomes within the available resources.
- be responsible for the wards performance and activity levels and managing staff performance and development in conjunction with the relative educator.

The Team:
The Short Stay Suite is a diverse unit encompassing Day of Surgery Admissions, Holding Bay, Short Stay Surgical Overnight, Short Stay Day Surgery and a stand-alone endoscopy unit including procedural rooms and recovery.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full-time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from late October.
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $119,136 - $124,850 per annum + 11% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

- Relevant post graduate qualifications
