The Faculty of Health also plays a leading role in relation to the development of the University's Health Precinct. The Precinct includes the Health Hub incorporating Student-led clinics, the University of Canberra Public Hospital, the Canberra Specialist Medical Centre and a 150-bed aged care facility (scheduled to open in late 2021).

The focus of this role is on leading and facilitating nursing research, building the capacity of Nursing clinicians in engaging with research, translating research evidence into clinical practice and supporting nursing innovations thus creating an organisation that is forward thinking and visionary.

The position will work closely with senior executives from ACT Health Directorate (including the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office), public health service providers and the Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra to develop research capacity and culture across nursing.

Your recognised academic leadership and management capability will enable you to play a key leadership role enhancing existing and developing new partnerships. Your excellent track record in research and teaching with recent currency of practice will be key to your success. Expertise will complement the research strengths of the Faculty of Health and a commitment to developing early career researchers in both academic and clinical environments should be demonstrated. A PhD qualification in Nursing including eligibility for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
