Job Description:

This role involves assisting the Department IT Administrator with the departmental website, creating video and straightforward graphical content. Utilizing basic technical knowledge, the chosen candidate will support basic multimedia and IT initiatives and provide first-level technical support to university employees.

  • Maintaining and updating the FSHN (Food Science and Human Nutrition) Website(s) with content pertinent to departmental needs
  • Taking charge of videography tasks: maintaining the YouTube video gallery on the website, and producing videos utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Overseeing graphics creation: executing departmental photography for video projects and events, creating graphics for the website and various programs, and maintaining and creating content for digital display boards
  • Assisting department faculty, staff, and graduate students with basic hardware and software challenges and assisting users with remote help software, like Zoom or Microsoft Office or MS Teams
  • Performing other duties as assigned

This role provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in media and information technology to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Expected Salary:
$11.00 - $12.50 per hour; commensurate with skills and experience.
Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all UF students eligible to work on the UF main campus. Employment will be through student Other Personnel Services (OPS), and the employee must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed part-time, up to 15 hours per week.

Work schedule is flexible around class schedule and allows for an office presence 4 - 5 days a week for 8 - 15 hours between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Able to commit at least three consecutive semesters to the position.

Ideally, you will pursue a degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology, Web design, or Media Production; others may apply.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Video Editing Software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Sony Vegas

  • Experience editing photos and creating slides in Canva, Photoshop or other editing software.

  • Familiar with Basic PC troubleshooting, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with Windows OS, Mac OS, and iOS.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems and take direction.

  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills in the job.

  • Federal Work Study Preferred.

  • Must be able to work at least 8 hours and up to 15 hours per week.

  • Able to commit at least three consecutive semesters to the position.
