Job Description:

The University of Florida Small Animal Hospital is recruiting a Veterinary Technician for their Multi-Service Department. An individual within this department will be part of the veterinary staff responsible for providing top quality nursing care, technical clinical support, as well as engaging in client communication and student mentorship within several key areas of the hospital including specialty services and the emergency and critical care areas.

An individual in this position must possess excellent communication skills and be proactive in determining the needs of the hospital. A successful applicant should enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment. They need to possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine and express a positive attitude in their daily work. The individual must be able to communicate effectively, demonstrate critical thinking and professionalism.

This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. A post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment are required.

Expected Salary:

Credentialed Technician: $20-$25
Non-credentialed Technician: $18-$22

Minimum Requirements:

Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience
Veterinary Technician II: Credentialed veterinary technician

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR
• Credentialed veterinary technician
