Senior Project Officer – NLP/AI Engineer – The Kirby Institute

Why Your Role Matters:

As the Senior Project Officer (Natural Language Processing), you will play a key role in the multidisciplinary research team supporting the Shiba Inu OSEINT initiative. You will work on developing the Natural Language Processing functionality of the EPIWATCH system, a rapid epidemic intelligence observatory, using open-source data and software for detection of epidemic signals. You will be responsible for working in the software development team to develop the EPIWATCH system’s NLP/AI functionality including prioritisation of reports, translation from low-resource languages, and named entity recognition for data extraction.

The role of Senior Project Officer reports to the EPIWATCH AI development Team lead (Associate Professor) and has no direct reports.
