Doctors in Training

Joining the doctors in training at the Tasmanian Department of Health and Tasmanian Health Service provides you with unique opportunities to develop your clinical skills, work in a range of settings.

The Doctor in Training position is responsible for the day to day support of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the hospital environment and which may include after-hours emergency support at the hospital.

Essential Requirements

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    1. crimes of violence
    2. sex related offences
    3. serious drug offences
    4. crimes involving dishonesty
  2. Identification check
  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

Salary

$79,578 - $138,593 per annum plus superannuation and allowances applicable to the role

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time & part time day work, working up to 80 hours per fortnight
