About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to join our dynamic team as a Senior Graduate Research Officer. As a key member of the Learning and Teaching Unit, you will play a crucial role in administering the Faculty's graduate research course and scholarship applications, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality services to our stakeholders. By deputizing for the Graduate Research Team Coordinator and contributing to process improvements, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the growth and success of our Faculty and the overall graduate researcher experience. Additionally, you will provide executive support to the Faculty Graduate Research Selection and Scholarship Committee, further enhancing your involvement in strategic decision-making processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver expert service and advice to stakeholders of the Learning and Teaching Unit within agreed service standards, referral protocols and a framework of excellence in customer service.
- Administer the Faculty’s graduate research course and scholarship applications including scholarship scoring, assessment of applications against entry requirements.
- Administer and manage Faculty-level assessment of current candidature variations and graduate research milestones. This includes follow-up overdue reports; review and evaluate completed reports; update candidate’s records based on review outcomes.
- Deputise for the Graduate Research Team Coordinator during periods of leave.

You will also have:
- A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present information clearly and to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels both internal and external to the University.
- Strong oral and communication skills with the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures verbally and in writing to a range of audiences.
- Committee secretariat experience including preparing and distributing agendas, papers, minutes and action items.
- High level of proficiency in the use of standard application software such as the Microsoft Office suite.
